All the blood that leaves the stomach and intestines goes through the liver.
It processes this blood and separates its components, balances them and creates the nutrients for the body to use.

FUNCTIONS:
1. Bile production, helps transport waste and break down fats in the small intestine during digestion.
2. Production of some proteins for blood plasma.
3. Production of cholesterol and special proteins to transport fats throughout the body.
4. Process hemoglobin to use its iron content (the liver stores iron)
